Game day chili

Hey all!  Happy Monday!  I wanted to share this amazing chili recipe that is perfect for a cozy fall day while watching football with friends and family.  I unfortunately do not eat half of the items in this dish (I am an extremely picky eater) BUT it smelled amazzzzing after being in the crock pot for a few hours.  It's super super easy to make and is such a beautiful (and impressive) looking dish.

Game Day Chili recipe:
1 lb ground turkey breast
1 can chili kidney beans
1 can tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes and green chilis (comes mixed together in the can)
1 white onion
1 green pepper
1 yellow pepper
1 red pepper
1 packet of chili seasoning

Directions:
1. Turn your crock pot on high
2 Brown the ground turkey in a skillet while you cut up your 3 colored peppers and white onion
3. Place all the peppers and onions in the crock pot to start cooking while you finish browning the turkey
4. Add in turkey meat, beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and chili seasoning
5. Mix all ingredients together, then place the lid on your crock pot
6. Leave in crock pot for 3-4 hours (stir together every once in a while to make sure the entire contents are being cooked)
7.  Serve and enjoy! :D (I add a dollop of sour cream and sprinkle sharp cheddar on top)

The weather this weekend was absolutely perfect, high 60's low 70s and sunny.  It was a bit windy on Saturday but it was the perfect day to run around and get some errands done.  I went to TJ maxx and bought some of the cutest stuff for our apartment...maybe I'll do a home tour once everything is finished!

First things first

Hey everyone!
I thought I would start my first blog post by introducing myself.  I'm Lisa, 27 years old and living in Washington, DC.  I grew up in Michigan and most of my family still lives there.  I thought by creating this blog, it would be a fun way to communicate with my family and friends who are far away!  I moved to DC a year and a half ago to pursue a relationship and a career...and it turns out I made a great decision because I am now engaged and have a great, steady, full time career!...funny how things work out :D  I have always been a visual and creative person and I am excited to put that side of myself to good use again.  Stay tuned for posts about fashion, beauty, travel and good food!
